Nevada Newly Admitted CLE Requirements for Attorneys

Newly Admitted attorneys in Nevada are those who were admitted for less than one full calendar year.

Newly Admitted Nevada attorneys are exempt from a CLE requirement for the remainder of the calendar year in which they are admitted, and for the following full calendar year.

Instead, Newly Admitted Nevada lawyers must complete a program entitled, "TIP" (Transitioning Into Practice) through the State Bar of Nevada. This is a six-month mentoring program required of anyone who is newly admitted to practice in Nevada and has been practicing for five years or less. 

NV Newly admitted attorneys are not required to complete CLE, but must complete the TIP Program offered through the State Bar of Nevada.

Newly Admitted Attorneys must take the following action steps to complete the TIP Program

1. Enroll in the upcoming TIP cycle on the State Bar of Nevada website
2. Download the TIP Mentoring Plan to review everything that is required
3. Once assigned a mentor, contact the mentor to set up regularly scheduled meetings
4. Use the TIP Mentoring Plan to manually track progress towards completion of the Program. Once completed, enter the completed plan online here.
5. Complete the Exit Evaluation once the completed plan is submitted
6. Pay the $350 Program Fee online here.
7. The mentor will receive a report of all entries made on the online tracking form, and will confirm the accuracy of the information. Once this is completed and the Program Fee is paid, the Newly Admitted attorney will receive a Completion Certification Letter.

Attorneys have to register for the TIP program within 2 years after being admitted, and from there, they will be assigned to either the Spring Cycle or the Fall Cycle.

The TIP program runs in two six-month periods as follows:

• Spring Cycle: March - September
• Fall Cycle: September - March of the following year

Newly admitted attorneys must complete the  "TIP" program through the Nevada State Bar. This program is not available through Lawline.
