Sarah Henchoz is a partner in Allen & Overy’s London office. She has considerable experience advising clients on the full range of both contentious and non-contentious employment matters. She regularly advises clients on the complex and sensitive issues arising out of the acquisition of a business and the harmonization of that business into the wider corporate structure both locally and cross border.  This involves advising on implementing new service agreements and benefit packages for senior executives, employee and trade union consultation, and post-completion integration.  Sarah also regularly appears in and advises clients on  Employment Tribunal matters, particularly in the areas of discrimination and whistleblowing, and in respect of bonus claims.  She also has significant experience of managing cross-border projects.

Sarah is a regular contributor to employment journals such as Practical Law, and is frequently quoted in the press.  Prior to working at Allen & Overy, Sarah spent two years as an in-house employment lawyer where she developed a practical and commercial approach to problem solving in a unionised workforce.

Sarah has recently worked with:

  • Thomas Cook on the employment issues arising out of its sale of the Neilson business.
  • Deepmind Technologies on their sale to Google and, in particular, the senior executive remuneration arrangements.
  • ENI on its acquisition of Liverpool Bay from BHP Biliton which involved significant employee consultation in respect of the harmonisation of terms and conditions of employment post-completion.
  • Boursorama on the employment issues arising out if its sale of Selftrade to Equiniti.
  • An international financial institution on its review of employment contacts in 52 countries in order to implement one universal contract across all of its operations.
  • A financial institution on a whistleblowing and unfair dismissal claim raising complex regulatory and legal issues.
  • A global bank on a race and disability discrimination claim brought by an existing employee.

Sarah Henchoz regularly posts on subjects such as discrimination and atypical working for Allen & Overy’s Employment Talk blog.
