Biography

Patrick Souter is Of Counsel with Gray Reed & McGraw LLP in its Dallas, Texas office where he concentrates his practice on transactional and administrative health care matters including the organization and regulatory compliance of physician practices, healthcare facilities, and other providers including those involved in the delivery of ancillary services.  He is an Adjunct Professor at Baylor University School of Law in Waco, Texas where he oversees the Healthcare Program and teaches classes in Healthcare Law, Healthcare Fraud and Abuse, and Regulation of Healthcare Professionals.  Patrick also is an Adjunct Professor in Baylor University’s Hankamer School of Business, Robbins Institute of Health Policy & Leadership MBA program where he teaches Healthcare Law and Ethics.  

Mr. Souter is Board Certified in Health Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, recognized as a leading healthcare lawyer in Texas by Chambers & Partners USA (2020 - 2023), selected by his peers for inclusion in Woodward/White, Inc.'s The Best Lawyers in America in the field of Health Care Law (2019 – 2024) and named a "Super Lawyer" by Texas Super Lawyers (a Thomson Reuters business) as published in Texas Monthly (2023).  He is a frequent speaker and author on subjects in the healthcare industry including those issues pertaining to physician practice issues, physician management service organizations operations, physician peer review activities, fraud, waste and abuse concerns, and medical record matters has co-authored nine books on health law issues.
