Lenore M. Montanaro is one of the nation's premier animal welfare attorneys and an earnest writer. She teaches animal law at the Roger Williams University School of Law, Bristol, Rhode Island. Lenore served as chair of the American Bar Association Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section Animal Law Committee (2021-2022). She represented Rhode Island and Massachusetts as a delegate at the annual International Animal Law Summit. Lenore is the author of several published works, including legal scholarship and poetry, with publications in law reviews, textbooks, and journals. She is a Providence Business News Top 40 Under Forty 2022 award recipient. She is also a fellow of the American Bar Foundation, an honor bestowed to only 1% of attorneys in each jurisdiction. She received a B.A. in English from the College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, Massachusetts and a J.D. from the Western New England University School of Law, Springfield, Massachusetts. Lenore is licensed to practice law in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, the District of Columbia, the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island, the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, the First Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court. She lives in Rhode Island with her two rescued beagle mixes, Reggie and Leo.
