Biography

Erika Stallings works as an associate general counsel for music products at Facebook where she counsels on the use of licensed music across the platform. Prior to joining Facebook, she worked as an attorney at BMI, the country's largest performance rights organization and before moving in-house, she spent six years in private practice with a focus on litigation and intellectual property. She is a sought-after speaker on issues relating to intellectual property and has spoken for the New York State Bar Association, Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, the American Bar Association, the National Bar Association, and the Mondo.NYC Music Conference. 

In addition to her legal career, she is a freelance writer with a focus on racial health disparities and the challenges of being a Black woman in corporate spaces. She is the author of the viral piece “When Black Women Go From Office Pet to Office Threat" written for ZORA magazine. Her work has been published in the New York Times, the Washington Post, O Magazine, The Cut, NPR, and others.
