Cedric is the Founding Principal of cedashco, inc. and provides coaching, training, and facilitation services in the areas of diversity, emotional intelligence, well-being, and resilience for legal professionals and organizations. Cedric graduated from the Leadership Coaching for Organizational Well-Being Program at George Mason University - Center for the Advancement of Well-Being. Cedric holds the following certifications: for personality type, Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Certified Practitioner through the Center for Applications of Psychological Type (CAPT); and for emotional intelligence the EQ-i 2.0 and EQ-i 360 from MHS Assessments. Cedric is also certified in Mental Health First Aid by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing.
Cedric is the former Editor-in-Chief of the American Bar Association (ABA) GPSolo Magazine, where he regularly authored a column titled: “BLT – Balanced Life Theory,” that focuses on life balance, resilience and well-being. Cedric has also served as the Diversity Director of the ABA GPSolo Division for the 2017-2018 bar year and Chair of the Diversity Board for the 2015-2017 bar years. Within the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA) Cedric has served as Co-Chair of the Diversity Committee of NJSBA from June 2017 to June 2019, and as the Co-Chair of the Law Office Management Committee June 2017 to June 2019.
Cedric’s legal experience includes being a sole practitioner (Ashley Law Firm) in Princeton, New Jersey concentrating in business, employment, and criminal litigation; serving as an Assistant District Attorney in the New York County District Attorney’s Office where his responsibilities encompassed all phases of criminal litigation, including grand jury presentations, trials, and appellate brief writing; serving as a Litigation Associate with the law firm of Pitney Hardin Kipp & Szuch LLP (now Day Pitney LLP) where his practice areas encompassed corporate and complex commercial litigation, internal investigations, corporate grand jury investigations, and white-collar criminal defense; and serving as Director of Academic Development at Rutgers Law School-Newark. Cedric obtained his B.A. and J.D. from Rutgers University and his Master of Divinity degree from Drew University Theological School.
