Overview
This program will discuss how to defend an I-9 audit, and the various steps involved with the audit from the beginning Notice of Inspection through the final determination by ICE that will be either a Notice of Intent to Fine, a Warning, or a letter stating that everything was compliant. If a company is fined, litigation can take place in OCAHO which has specific rules and processes.
This program will also discuss additional different worksite actions that are taking place under the Trump administration such as document subpoenas, raids, and arrest warrants. An understanding of the differences between these actions is critical to knowing how to act and what to do in each situation.
Learning Objectives:
- Prepare for an I-9 Notice of Inspection and learn how to defend it
- Discuss litigation options if the company is fined after an I-9 audit
- Review the other types of worksite enforcement actions being utilized under the Trump administration
- Prepare for worksite enforcement actions by understanding protocols and legal authority under each type of action
