Walk the Walk: Best Practices for the Retention and Promotion of Diverse Attorneys

The program, presented by Orrick attorneys Lorraine McGowen, Angelique Magliulo-Hager, and Tierra Piens, will discuss best practices for the retention and promotion of diverse attorneys in both law firm and in-house legal department settings. The conversation will include a discussion of the barriers to achieving diversity in the legal profession, and practices and policies that disrupt workplace bias. The discussion will also cover an overview of major employment and civil rights laws as well as legal risks and considerations associated with implementing DEI policies.
