Overview
This course explores the past, present, and future of work-related psychological stress claims, with a primary focus on New York. For those practitioners who are less familiar with New York State's Workers' Compensation system, the course includes an overview to establish a baseline level of understanding of workers' compensation claims in New York, in general, and psychological stress claims, in particular.
The course examines the evolution of psychological stress claims, current case and statutory developments, and the common issues faced by claimants and employers. This will culminate in the identification of open questions and potential future outcomes. While this course will focus primarily on New York law, psychological stress claims in other states will be discussed, where relevant.
