Divorces are seldom simple processes and most often require advanced, complex legal counsel and advice. Nonetheless, all too often a potential client will walk into an attorney’s office, seeking comprehensive representation only to be told by the attorney that the “process is simple,” or “can’t go wrong.”
Both statements are patently false. While a divorce might be easy to file for, a successful divorce petition takes skill, experience and a mastery of guiding local and state principles of law. Before addressing a client’s divorce request, a wise attorney has many questions to ask and many informational holes to fill. In this course, Bobby Barina, a Texas Board of Legal Specialization certified Family Law attorney, helps prepare attorneys to comprehensively represent the divorce-seeking client through a close examination of proper questioning, documentation, information gathering, cross-party notices, final decree presentation and general trial preparation.
I. Learn how to conduct the initial contact with the potential client
II. Understand the decision to accept the representation and the contract for employment
III. Gather the necessary information
IV. Correctly notify the other party
V. Effectively prepare the final divorce decree and necessary documents
VI. Identify proper procedure for setting the court date
VII. Prove up the final divorce
Bobby Dale Barina has, for over twenty years, from his office in Harker Heights, Texas, represented clients in trial and appellant courts throughout Central Texas.
Mr. Barina’s family law practice represents people from all walks of life in matters as simple as an uncontested divorce to complex custody and property cases.
Mr. Barina is board certified in family law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization
Mr. Barina is licensed in: The United States Supreme Court (1998); The United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit (1997), The United States District Court, Western District of Texas (1992); and, the Supreme Court of Texas, 1991.
I learned that asked about an uncontested divorce in Texas, I can outline it very generally and then advise that an experienced lawyer need be hired/
This person does a good job. I have taken a few of his courses and plan to look for him in the future.

Fantastic instructor! Loved listening to him!
Very interesting. Too bad not all divorces are uncontested.
Like this attorney's presentations. This is the second presentation I have listened to. He is factual, to the point, and knows the Code Sections for reference.

One of the best CLE programs yet!!!
Good review and a reminder not to take for granted many issues we attorneys think everyone knows.
I have taken similar courses in other jurisdictions on this subject, and I thought the combination of the practical speaking with the well written presentation was better than most.
It was nice hearing from a Texas lawyer. While your seminars are good, most speakers are from out of state.
Straightforward presentation on steps involved in the uncontested divorce process and how to represent your client effectively and efficiently, to preserve the objective of a low-cost procedure.
Helpful and well presented.
