Overview
This program will consist of various practitioners from different perspectives discussing the various reasons why diversity, inclusion, and equity is critical in the legal profession. A Diversity, Equity and Inclusion scholar will discuss terminology and issues relevant to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion discussions. An Administrative Law Judge and Employment, Personal Injury, and Family Law Litigators from diverse backgrounds will discuss examples and experiences that demonstrate the benefits and effects of representing clients or presiding over individuals from diverse backgrounds. Finally, the panel will discuss action items and practical tips for representing diverse clients especially as diverse attorneys.
This program will benefit attorneys who are of races or ethnicities that have been historically marginalized or excluded, as well as all other attorneys who want to be allies of such attorneys and/or who want to be better educated on diversity, equity and inclusion in the legal profession.
