The Basics of Special Education Law and Representing Underserved Populations in New York

This course provides an overview of education law in New York. The presentation will cover how to best represent special needs students including a review of the relevant law and most important cases in the field. It will also cover the specifics of the fee-shifting provision, which allows attorneys to collect reasonable fees if they are the prevailing party at hearing.
