Overview
This program is designed by practitioners to take the fear out of the multi-prong attack that is a congressional investigation. The program will discuss how to prepare your client for dealing with the invasive nature of an investigation, all while handling the public scrutiny that distinguishes a congressional investigation from a regulatory or law enforcement one. The presentation will deal with real world practicalities and discuss the inner workings of the congressional/DOJ, congressional/regulatory agency, and congressional/state investigation multi-headed monsters; how to identify the different inflection points; and how to bring your client out on the other side with their business, freedom, and reputation intact.
Learning Objectives:
Identify the types of issues that lead to congressional investigations and how to maneuver between committees and other investigative agencies
Predict investigations and prepare for them before they happen
Develop a plan in place that makes an inevitable investigation more easily contained
Prepare your organization or client for investigations and establish procedures and processes that allow for a more seamless transition into an active investigation without putting the business systems into crisis
