Every year this course highlights the changed dynamics in legal and business environment for college and professional sports. This year's class is no exception, and this 90 minute presentation highlights the seismic change in college sports with continued litigation, legislative proposals and the role of the NCAA to regulate the new landscape. It will also discuss professional sports issues involving, investment rules and team sales, the changes in media rights and the regulation of sports betting in the wake of scandals involving leagues and players and. labor relations between players' associations and leagues and possibilities of job actions. It will also discuss policymaking by the Trump Administration and mention international governance issues. Sports Law 2026 will discuss the upcoming Supreme Court decision in Little v. Hecox and West Virginia v. B.P.J. involving the rights of transgender athletes. Whether you wish to practice in the field or are a sports fan, this course will be a useful primer.
