Social Security Considerations for Non-Social Security Practitioners

This program will provide basic insights into Social Security Law, specifically designed for practitioners in other areas. The course will focus on the intersectionality of Social Security Law and common practice areas such as Family Law, Estate Planning, Bankruptcy, Personal Injury, and Workers' Compensation. Practitioners will leave with tips on how to better represent claimants in their practice area who receive Social Security Benefits.

1. Navigate child support, spousal support, and divorce when Social Security is involved 

2. Help Social Security recipients discharge student loans outside bankruptcy

3. Calculate Workers' Compensation Offsets and other considerations

4. Discuss Special Needs Trusts and other tools for leaving money to disabled individuals

5. Discuss SSI considerations for personal injury awards
