Overview
Amid the constant hype, it's easy to believe that AI is unstoppable. While that may be true, it's not the whole truth-AI is a product of human decisions, and so is the way we use it. This means that we can't escape our professional duty to use it ethically, especially in the absence of meaningful regulation.
But what does it mean to use AI ethically, and how do we as lawyers navigate this challenge? This program takes a practice-focused approach, exploring the common ethical risks that can arise both in managing a legal practice and advising clients. It identifies the sources of these risks, explains how they can manifest, and provides strategies for mitigating them.
This course presented by Dana E. Heitz of Heitz Legal, P.C., is aimed at legal advisers and decision-makers who are considering or actively using AI in their practice and seeking to integrate it responsibly while ensuring its ethical use in client services.
Learning Objectives:
- Break down the origin of potential ethical hazards in an AI tool
- Identify potential ethical hazards in the use of AI in a law practice
- Evaluate risk mitigation strategies
