This course will provide a different framework to a deeper understanding of sexual harassment in the workplace, how it presents in law firms, its prevalence in the legal industry and the workplace in general, and why that matters. Understanding sexual harassment as an internalized act of aggression rather than a "mistake" is key to properly validating the experiences of victims.
This program, led by attorney Maria-Vittoria Carminati, will dissect the social phenomenon of sexual harassment and explore how it affects the legal workplace. Additionally, the program will explore ways to identify and address the dynamics of sexual harassment, address it when it happens, and prevent it from happening to begin with.

Define sexual harassment and recognize it as an act of aggression, prone to recidivism and to escalation
Explore ways that supervising and managing attorneys in law firms can identify and address sexual harassment dynamics

Giugi Carminati is a litigator and intersectional feminist advocate. She is a human and civil rights attorney at NDH, LLC. She practices in state and federal courts and is licensed in Texas, New York, DC, and Colorado. She brings firm but compassionate legal advocacy for her clients. She speaks French, English, Italian and Spanish.
