Overview
As the saying goes, sometimes an ounce of preparation is worth a pound of cure. Police Chief Martin Brody in the movie Jaws almost fell victim to the old adage by not bringing a bigger boat, as well as jumping in on his quest to get Jaws without a clear plan. The same is true for IP Transactions, as making sure you have a clear plan on how to address potential liability by shifting risk may mean the difference of having a solid asset that will help grow development for your company to being mired in a year's long litigation, paying damages, or both. This program will discuss methods of addressing and mitigating potential risk in IP Transactions and will benefit in house counsel and outside counsel involved in evaluating and completing deals to acquire or divest critical IP assets, as well as those currently managing the risk of acquiring or divestment IP assets in technology and life sciences areas.
