Overview
One of the most common obstacles that law firms face when attempting to recruit and hire ethnically diverse summer associate classes is a dearth of diversity in their applicant pools. Contrary to conventional wisdom - i.e. that there simply are not enough qualified minority law students from which to choose - the reason that many law firms struggle to recruit diverse candidate pools is that they start focusing on diversity too late in the recruiting and hiring process.
Learning Objectives:
-
Engage with law students of color prior to the firms' formal hiring processes
-
Increase the amount of diversity in their applicant pools
-
Increase the number of law students of color who accept their offers
