Overview
In New York, the Surrogate's Court hears cases involving the affairs of descendants, including the probate of wills and the administration of estates. In this detailed, two-part course, Hillary Frommer, Counsel at Elman Freiberg, PLLC, and Cheryl L. Katz-Erato, Senior Associate at Cona Elder Law PLLC, will provide participants with a look into the discovery process of potential probate or will contest in New York State Surrogate's Courts.
In Part 1, participants will learn the ins and outs of the initial discovery that is allowed under section 1404 of the New York Surrogate's Court Procedure Act before the filing of objections to the probate of a will, including but not limited to document discovery and 1404 examinations.
