Overview

In this program, Greenberg Traurig’s Paul M. Seby will provide an update on administrative and litigation developments related to several major federal energy and environmental regulations that are subject to recent Presidential Executive Orders mandating their prompt review and potential reconsideration. These Executive Orders seek to promote energy independence and economic growth through the identification of impediments to burdens on increased domestic energy production and transmission. Mr. Seby will also address the ways in which the states may play an increased role in overseeing energy development and production in the renewed context of the cooperative federalism called for under most major federal energy and environmental laws.

Learning Objectives:
  1. Understand the function of an Executive Order
  2. Identify recent key Executive Orders and their potential impact on energy and environmental regulations
  3. Discuss the potential timeframe for implementation of such Executive Orders
  4. Recognize the level of scrutiny to which Executive Orders will be subject in court
