Overview

On November 27, 2019, the European Union enacted a new directive on the protection of whistleblowers, titled "Directive 2019/1937 on the protection of persons who report breaches of Union law." This Directive creates what is arguably the strongest whistleblower protections worldwide. In addition to prohibiting retaliation, the Directive also requires companies to put in place robust internal reporting systems for the receipt and investigation of whistleblowers' concerns.

Presented by Johanna Schwartz Miralles, this program will provide an overview of current European whistleblower protections and will discuss how those protections have been strengthened by the Directive. The program will benefit attorneys counseling international corporations on compliance issues, as well as labor and employment attorneys seeking a deeper knowledge of European whistleblower law.
