Overview
Remote (or "virtual") depositions are now the norm and, for various reasons, may continue to be so once the pandemic subsides. These depositions require planning that may put an emphasis on technical skills of conducting and defending lawyers and on the assistance of nonlawyers. This course will begin with an overview of the planning that should go into the planning of remote depositions, including the selection of the nonlawyer vendors who will assist in the deposition process. It will also address making and preserving objections and creating a complete record.

- Appreciate what criteria should guide the selection of a remote deposition vendor and platform
- Recognize when and how to object to the deposition process and to questions or answers that might be posed
- Understand what might to done to create a complete and accurate record of the deposition
