Overview
Attorneys who handle motor vehicle accident personal injury cases know that one of the first questions to ask a potential client is whether they selected limited tort or full tort on their insurance policy. Of course, most people have no idea what they selected and how that selection will affect their case. However, the insurance companies are certainly keeping track and are employing aggressive tactics to dissuade people from pursuing their cases.
This course, presented by David Kwartler and Jason Manus, reviews the legal issues surrounding limited tort, current attempts by insurance companies to reduce limited tort claims and tools to “pierce” the limited tort veil.
Learning Objectives:
I. Identify whether your client is truly limited tort
II. Identify key case law to utilize
III. Learn tactics to “pierce” the limited tort veil
