Overview
This course will provide a brief overview of the principles of US Maritime Law governing maritime contracts and maritime torts. We will then review several recent cases involving claims by passengers for emotional distress, physical injury, and death resulting from exposure to the COVID-19 virus on board passenger vessels. We will also briefly discuss the prospects for future claims for damages and the overall impact of the pandemic on the cruise industry.
