Overview

Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) have exploded into the world of media, advertising, and entertainment, creating new markets and opportunities for agencies, brands, artists, investors, and consumers. As the once-obscure technology gains mass appeal and evolves into a mainstay of popular culture, companies and individuals are racing to jump aboard the NFT train, exploring whether and how they can leverage NFTs to connect with consumers, extract new value from existing and newly created intellectual property, and generate new revenue streams.

In light of this trend and its far-reaching impact, Hannah Taylor will discuss:

  • What is an NFT?
  • How do you buy an NFT?
  • What do you get (and not get) when you buy an NFT?
  • What are some of the major legal issues NFTs raise?

Learning Objectives:

  1. Examine what NFTs are and how they are used and obtained

  2. Identify and understand legal issues associated with NFTs

  3. Gain practical tips on how to counsel in this new area
