Overview

This program, taught by New Jersey Environmental Law attorney Stuart Lieberman, provides a general orientation of the New Jersey Court Rules. The program will go over each section of the Court Rules, provide an overview, and explain how the Rules function and interact. The course will also cover recent updates to the Court Rules. This program is suited for newly admitted New Jersey lawyers who are unfamiliar with the court rules, lawyers licensed in nearby jurisdictions who would benefit from an overview, and more experienced practitioners looking for a refresher on the new rules.

  1. Review the overall structure of the New Jersey Rules of Court
  2. Discuss the most recent amendments to the Rules
  3. Detail the Rules relating to Summons and Service of Process, filing of complaints and appeals, availability of discovery in litigation, and appeals as right or by leave of Court
  4. Apply landmark decisions concerning the Rules
