Overview
Social media is everywhere, and it seems like everyone is using it. And just when you get used to one platform and the guidance that applies there, something new comes along. Social media reaches many more people than traditional advertising and when lawyers use social media, the ethics rules may apply, even when we are using it for marketing or personal use. So, it is crucial that we maintain our competence regarding these platforms and how they can properly be used, whether we are practicing law, advertising our services, or engaging in public discussions. And, our clients use social media too, so we also must know how to advise them properly regarding their use of social media, particularly when litigation is involved.
