Overview
As the largest buyer of goods and services in the world, contracting with the U.S. government can be a lucrative opportunity for businesses of all sizes. But myriad rules and regulations governing federal government contracting make it dramatically different from the commercial contracting process, including the disputes process. There are unique requirements when it comes to disputes with the federal government. For example, unlike the commercial market, government contractors can "protest" awards made by the federal government to their competitors. Additionally, there are certain requirements that contractors must follow when they have post-award performance disputes, including where those disputes may be brought, and when. Therefore, it is important for federal contractors to understand the rules of the federal disputes process.
To that end, Anuj Vohra and Michelle D. Coleman will cover
- Contractor protest options in local, state, and federal procurements
- Best practices for challenging a protest award (or defending your award)
- Post-award disputes with your government customer
Learning Objectives:
- Review bid protest options in local, state, and federal procurements
- Identify the requirements to start the post-award contract disputes process
