Overview
Employers with collective bargaining agreements that include contribution obligations to a multiemployer pension plan are generally not involved with plan administration beyond providing census information (hire dates, termination dates, etc.) and remitting contributions. However, employers may not be aware of their ongoing exposure to withdrawal liability, the potential amount involved, or their rights under ERISA.
