Overview
The cannabis industry in the United States has developed within the context of conflicting and evolving federal and state laws, and businesses in the cannabis industry must navigate a wide array of legal challenges. These challenges extend to those businesses that provide services or otherwise interact with cannabis companies.
In December, President Trump signed an executive order that directed the attorney general to expeditiously reschedule marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule III in the federal Controlled Substances Act.
The order poses two questions for our consideration. First, will the attorney general actually reschedule marijuana and, if so, when might that occur? Second, how, if at all, will the cannabis world change if marijuana is rescheduled?
We hope you'll join us for an interactive discussion of these topics.
