Overview

This webinar, presented by Robert Laplaca, will examine the laws governing an advertiser's use of influencers and endorsers to market its products.  In 2023, the FTC revised its endorsement guidelines which provide strong guidance on what the FTC considers deceptive advertising.  Learn what is an endorsement, what material connections must be disclosed in ads, and best practices for engaging influencers.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Examine influencer marketing by the numbers
  2. Discuss the FTC Act and FTC Endorsement Guidelines
  3. Review an "endorsement," endorsement requirements, and consumer and expert endorsement
  4. Analyze the potential penalties, civil liabilities, and recent enforcement actions
  5. Identify contract terms with influencers and best practices
