This program will present strategies that every lawyer must know to present the strongest motion for relief in Family Court. This "how to" will review the fundamental procedural rules that govern family law motion practice and then delve into the substance of the most common motions presented in Family Court, including frequently occurring issues and the most important statutes and case law that every family lawyer must know. This course will cover a range of substantive motions, from applications for financial relief to motions addressing issues of custody and general equity, and how to prepare a strong certification and brief in support of the motion. The viewer will come away from this program with practical tips on how to approach a family law motion, how to prepare a strong application for filing, and how to best present a compelling and persuasive case for oral argument.
