Overview

This program will discuss contemporary developments in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the healthcare industry.  AI models and uses are rapidly evolving and federal and state legislation and regulations are adapting to address new challenges.  This program will discuss not only federal HIPAA rules, but also different approaches in various states.

In addition, this program discusses multiple AI use cases, and demonstrates a risk analysis of those use cases under state law.  The program will principally benefit in-house counsel, privacy and data officers and compliance and technology professionals.

Learning Objectives: 

  1.  Identify ways in which existing (and future) HIPAA regulations may impact the use of AI in healthcare

  2.  Illustrate analysis of AI use cases under existing law

  3.  Discuss various approaches to state regulation of AI in the healthcare industry
