Overview
Lien holders can be aggressive and the payment of their liens can oftentimes disrupt a successful settlement negotiation. This program will address how to identify, reduce, and resolve a number of potential liens that may impact the settlement of a personal injury case. This program will be beneficial for both defense and plaintiffs attorneys admitted to practice in New ork. All skill levels from newly admitted attorneys to attorneys with decades of experience are encouraged to attend.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify ERISA liens, VA liens, Workers Compensation liens, Medicaid liens, and Medicare liens and set-asides
- Discuss strategies to reduce and resolve liens
- Review how to manage the impact of liens on settlement negotiations in personal injury cases
