Overview

This course, taught by experienced oil and gas transactional attorney Dave Davis III, is designed to assist the viewer in identifying and drafting key provisions of the standard Master Service Agreements ("MSAs") used in the upstream oil and gas industry to contract for oil field services, goods and equipment and professional and technical consulting.

Learning Objectives: 

  1. Understand the function of the MSA and how it relates to other oil field service agreements
  2. Identify provisions in the standard form MSA that address material risks for oil and gas producers and contractors
  3. Discuss material concepts for drafting key MSA provisions
  4. Compare and contract statutes for various states that address liability indemnification between oil field operators and contractors
