Tax practitioners operate in an environment that is distinguishable from most other practice areas. In this course, attorney Peter Lennon discusses the interaction of various laws, regulations, and cases which govern the professional conduct of tax practitioners.


Learning Objectives:

  1. Examine the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct, with a particular focus on their effect on tax practitioners
  2. Review the ABA Section of Taxation’s Committee on the Standards of Tax Practice
  3. Explore the Internal Revenue Code regulations that govern an attorney’s professional conduct

Peter A. Lennon’s career has been devoted to cases involving complex financial issues for many years.  In addition to being an Attorney at Law and a Professor of Economics, he is also a Certified Public Accountant with extensive Auditing and Taxation experience and has a Masters Degree in Finance.  He works as a Lawyer, Forensic Investigator and Litigation Consultant for firms and regulators.
