Overview
Have you ever thought that if a client was in a good mood, convincing them about the best way forward would be easier? Have you ever noticed how your own emotional state influences your decisions as an attorney?
Attorneys are typically trained to believe that emotions and rational thought are opposing concepts. But trying to separate your emotions from your rational mind can result in poor decision-making skills that could lead to poor ethical choices. Instead, learn how to accurately identify your emotional state and integrate emotions purposefully with your rational mind to make the best decisions for an optimal legal practice.
Attorney Francine Tone will include a thorough discussion of ABA Model Rule 1.1, regarding competence; Rule 1.3, regarding diligence; and Rule 3.1, regarding meritorious claims/contentions. In this CLE program, she explores in detail how abiding by these ethical rules requires the integration of emotions for exceptional decision making skills for attorneys.
