This seminar, presented by Lisa Gingeleskie, will provide an understanding of employee privacy rights and protection, its importance in the workplace, and the legal framework governing it under New Jersey and federal law.
Attendees will receive an overview of federal and New Jersey privacy laws and regulations along with industry standards and guidelines. Employer responsibility to protect employee personal, medical, and personally identifiable information will be discussed. The presentation will also cover an employer's right to monitor versus an employee's right to privacy in connection with company-issued digital communications devices, including the monitoring of employees' off-duty activities, remote work, and media engagement. The session will conclude with best practices for implementing legally compliant policies.
