Overview
Laws on non-competes and other restrictive covenants vary wildly by country. And so traditionally, multinationals have always heard that they have to tailor their restrictive covenant templates to comply locally, in each particular country where they want to im[pose these agreements. But actually...there is another, much easier way. The laws around the world regulating employee restrictive covenants (particularly non-competes) actually cluster into just three groups.
This unique and fast-paced program, presented by Donald C. Dowling of Littler, offers a streamlined strategy for drafting and enforcing non-competes and other restrictive covenants worldwide: A top-down, global approach to replace the usual, cumbersome bottom-up/local country-by-country approach. Our session also explores a global approach to choice-of-law/choice-of-forum clauses in restrictive covenants.
Learning Objectives:
Issue non-compete, non-solicit, confidentiality & IP assignment agreements internationally
Discuss multi-country post-term restrictive covenant projects
Examine a global approach to post-term restrictive covenants other than non-competes
Analyze post-term non-competes
Review strategy for three template agreements and tweak locally
