This program, presented by Angelica Mercado and Alissa Hascup, will present the fundamentals of handling a domestic violence case in New Jersey from the original application for a temporary restraining order through the final adjudication. Attendees will learn about the process of making an application for a Temporary Restraining Order, amending a Temporary Restraining Order, procedural rules of discovery, and preparing for a Final Restraining Order hearing. This program will also discuss trial strategies and best practices for effectively arguing for and/or defending against domestic violence restraining orders in New Jersey and beyond.
