Criminal Law in Virginia

This segment will provide a primer on Virginia Criminal Law for attorneys from other jurisdictions seeking reciprocity in Virginia. It will cover the classification of criminal offenses and punishments as well as specific elements of certain offenses, and will highlight some of the areas where Virginia law may differ from other states. The presenter will also include some practical tips on interpreting the criminal code.
