Course Description

Join attorney Maria-Vittoria Carminati for a deep dive into advanced topics in Colorado Family Law. In this program, Carminati will address issues such as premarital and marital agreements, postnuptial agreements, protection orders, filing for contempt and types of contempt, and domestic violence and its impact on parenting allocations.  

She will also address common law marriage, same-sex couples, and the role of child/family investigators.


Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify requirements for premarital, marital, and postnuptial agreements
  2. Appreciate the different types of protection order and when they are available
  3. Address issues of domestic violence and the effect domestic violence has on parenting allocations
  4. Discuss common law marriage including retroactive application and common law for same-sex couples
