Biometric Privacy Laws: Litigation and Compliance

Biometric privacy laws across the country are constantly evolving, and privacy class actions are on the rise in a growing number of states. Both plaintiffs and defendants are pursuing new theories, and courts are continuing to face many issues of first impression. This program, presented by Danielle Kays and Michael Jacobsen, will provide an overview of biometric privacy laws in the U.S., both as an introduction for those who are less familiar, as well as an update on the lay of the land for those who follow the subject. We also will discuss current and upcoming issues to keep an eye on, including pending cases, as well as legislative action. The course will conclude with considerations for compliance and tips for avoiding litigation.
