Overview
A client approaches you with an idea for a start-up company. She has a variety of ideas spanning from a smart-phone application to a secret family recipe and exclusive restaurant design. What types of intellectual property can she secure to prevent others from ‘stealing’ her cool ideas? In this expansive course, Steven Chin will explain the basic intellectual property principles you need to understand in order to best counsel your start-up clients. He will review basic trademark and copyright protections, as well as delve into patent law specifics and trade secret basics. He will also review general trends in IP law and how they apply to start-up companies.
