After 9-1-1: Emergency Situations in Texas Family Law Cases

The program will discuss the various types of relief when a client is faced with (and when defending) emergency scenarios. These will include different types of protective orders, restraining orders, standing orders, and peace bonds. The program will benefit family law practitioners of all experience levels.

1. Explain the different options available to a Texas practitioner when presented with emergency scenarios

2. Identify what type of relief is best suited for a particular set of facts

3. Cover how to prepare and defend for the ex parte and hearing portions of the different types of relief

4. Discuss the "do's" and "don'ts" in dealing with different types of emergency relief options
