Overview
COVID, declining patient censuses, the relocation of healthcare away from acute care and other institutional facilities, the shift to value-based compensation, and the recent resurgence in inflation have exponentially increased the financial challenges bedeviling healthcare providers. Those challenges negatively impact the financial health of the healthcare provider. Bankruptcy can be a useful tool in meeting those challenges whether through restructuring the provider, selling the provider, or, as a last resort, liquidating the provider.
During this program, Mr. Crapo will address the process of shepherding the healthcare provider through bankruptcy. He will discuss the provisions of the Bankruptcy Code, like the patient care ombudsman provision, expressly governing healthcare bankruptcies, as well as the application of the Code's general provisions in a healthcare bankruptcy.
This program will benefit bankruptcy attorneys representing a party in interest in a healthcare bankruptcy, healthcare lawyers who advise bankruptcy counsel in healthcare bankruptcies, and in-house counsel at healthcare providers who are contemplating a bankruptcy proceeding or who have sought bankruptcy relief.
