Overview

Faculty member Mark Oberti brings a unique perspective to attorneys looking to start their own plaintiff's employment practice.  With 15 years of experience representing employers, Mr. Oberti launched his own plaintiff's practice three years ago.  This course will highlight the important steps attorneys must take to become a successful plaintiffs' attorney, from choosing which cases to take on, to maintaining best practices to uphold your professional reputation. The course is designed to provide the foundation required to create and maintain a successful practice as well as assist in the consistent improvements for current plaintiff's employment law practitioners.

 

Learning Objectives:

I.   Identify and select quality cases

II.  Implement best practices for working plaintiffs cases, both procedurally and substantively

III. Avoid bad clients and know what to do if you end up with one despite your best efforts

IV. Maintain good relations and win respect and referrals from opponents, courts, and other attorneys

V.  Maximize the chance of a successful mediation and, failing that, trial outcome
