What are the MA CLE Requirements for attorneys?

Massachusetts does not currently have a Mandatory CLE requirement for attorneys. Note: Attorneys recently admitted to the State Bar of Massachusetts must complete a one-day Practicing with Professionalism course.

What is the Practicing with Professionalism course?

The Practicing with Professionalism course is a one-day live, in-person program that is provided by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, as well as many other approved sponsors. The calendar of course dates can be found here.

What is the deadline for MA attorneys to complete their requirement?

Attorneys must complete the Practicing with Professionalism requirement no later than 18 months after being admitted to practice in Massachusetts.

How do MA attorneys report compliance?

Providers of the Practicing with Professionalism course are required to submit attorneys’ attendance to the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers.
