In 2005, Susan was on special assignment at the Commission for Energy Regulation, Dublin, Ireland, and for several years was active in the International Gas Union. As a FERC employee, Susan received the Presidential Rank Award for Meritorious Executive Service (2008); Chairman’s Medal (2007); Chairman’s Executive Leadership Award (2005); and the Exemplar of Public Service Award (2002).
Susan has been a frequent speaker at energy conferences and a presenter for continuing legal education organizations. She has also published two law review articles, including one on Federal cyber security law, and her article comparing FERC and the European Union’s Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) was published in the IGU magazine in 2012.
Susan received her J.D. from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law, Northern Kentucky University, her Masters in European History from the University of Cincinnati, and her B.A. from Thomas More College, Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky. After law school, Susan clerked for the Hon. Robert Lukowsky, Justice, Kentucky Supreme Court, and during law school she assisted the Hon. Arthur Goldberg, former associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. She is a member of the Kentucky, District of Columbia, and Energy Bar Associations.
